Given:

Sum of two digit digit number=15

original number-new number=27

To Find:

The original number.

Solution:

  • Let the digit in the units place be x.
  • Then, the digit in the tens place will be=(15-x)
  • Therefore , the original number :

        10\times (15-x)+x=(150-9x)

  • On,reversing the digits,we have x at tens place and (15-x) at units place.
  • The new number:

        10\times x+(15-x)=(9x+15)

  • Now, according to question:(original number)-(new number)=27

       (150-9x)-(9x+15)=27

   ⇒135-18x=27

   ⇒18x=(135-27)

   ⇒x=\dfrac{108}{18}

   ⇒x=6

  • Therefore, the original number will have unit digit=6 and tens digit=(15-6)=9.
  • ∴The original number is 96.
