let x be in tenths place and y be in units place.

The desired no is 10x+y

now,the no.obtained by interchanging is 10y+x

According to the question we have,

10x+y+10y+×=176

11x+11y=176

11(x+y)=176

x+y=16

Is the question right?cz the next part says the sum of the digits is 16....

8334812253shinam: i mean how is it possible i got x+y as 16 above...
lakshyajindal0310: the answer is 79 but i want to know how?????????
8334812253shinam: x+y=16.multipying by 2,2x=16,x=8 and 2y=16=y=8,x=8and y=8 so the no.10x+y=10×8+8=88 is the no. Check 88+88=176. therr are two possibilities either 79 or 88.like 79 is the no ,if we reverse them we will get 97, 79+97=176
8334812253shinam: 88 is also correct if we revers we will get the same no 88
