let unit place be. x

------ ten's place be. y

the number is 10y+x

the reverse number is 10x+y

case. 1

x+y=12. (1)

case. 2

10x+y=(10y+x)+54

10x+y-10y-x=54

9x-9y=54

9(x-y)=54

x-y=6. (2)

from eq. 1 & 2

x+y=12

x-y=6

2x=18. x=9

put the value of x in eq 1

x+y=12

9+y=12. y=3

The number is 10y+x

=10*3+9

=39
