Let us consider , The number of digit in its tens place be x .

& At the ones place is y

So, The obtained number will be (10x + y)

  • The sum of the digits is 9. (Given)

➝ x + y = 9

➝ x = 9 - y ________{1}

  • The number is 6 times the units. (Given)

➝ 10x + y = 6y ________{2}

Using substitution method , equation 1 in 2.

➝ 10(9 - y) + y = 6y

➝ 90 - 10y + y = 6y

➝ 90 - 9y = 6y

➝ 90 = 6y + 9y

➝ 90 = 15y

➝ y =  \cancel{\dfrac{90 }{15}}

y = 6

Putting y in equation ,1

x = 9 - y

➝ x = 9 - 6

x = 3

The number obtained is

10x + y

➝ 10(3) + 6

➝ 30 + 6

36

The number involved is 36.
