the sum of two fractions is 48/9 if one fraction is 11/4 then find the other fraction​

1/4+x/1=48/9 so ,x/1=48/9-1/4 then,lcm= 183/36 =61/12

Therefore,

  • As we know that the opposite of addition is subtraction -

x = \Large\dfrac{48}{9} - \Large\dfrac{11}{4}

( LCM of 9 and 4 = 36 )

So x = \Large\dfrac{48 - 11}{36}

x = \Large\dfrac{37}{36} = \Large{1}\Large\dfrac{1}{36}
