Given :

  • Sum of two integers = - 25
  • One of the integer = - 12

To find :

  • The other integer

Solution :

Let the other integer be x.

According to the question,

⠀⠀⠀⇒ x + (-12) = - 25

⠀⠀⠀⇒ x - 12 = - 25

Transposing - 12 to the other side.

[Sign will get changed from negative to positive.]

⠀⠀⠀⇒ x = - 25 + 12

⠀⠀⠀⇒ x = - 13

The value of x = - 13

Therefore, the other integer = - 13

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Verification :-

Substitute the value of x in x + (-12) = - 25

Taking LHS,

⠀⠀⠀⇒ x + (-12)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ - 13 + (-12)

⠀⠀⠀⇒ - 13 - 12

⠀⠀⠀⇒ - 25

LHS = - 25

RHS = - 25

LHS = RHS

Hence, verified.

★GIVEN:-

  • Sum of two numbers = -25

  • One of the number = -12

★TO FIND:-

  • Other number

★SOLUTION:-

Let the other number be a

According to question,

 :  \implies \sf{a + (-12) = (-25) } \\  \\   : \implies \sf{a - 12 =  - 25} \\  \\  : \implies \sf{a =  - 25 + 12} \\  \\  { \boxed{ \underline{ \huge{ \pink{a =  - 13}}}}}

★TO VERIFY:-

Putting a = -13

LHS:-

(-13) + (-12)

-13 - 12

-25

= RHS

LHS = RHS

HENCE VERIFIED...
