Suppose the other integer to be x

= x + (-38) = 65

= x - 38 = 65

= x = 38 + 65 = 103

Therefore the other integer us 103

The sum of two integers is 65. If one of them is -31, find the other number.

Given :-

Sum of two integers = 65

➪ One of the number = -31

To find ?

The other number.

\huge{\boxed{\boxed{\tt{\purple{Solution\:⤵}}}}}

The other number is 96.

Step-by-step explanation :-

Let the other number be x.

❥ As per the question, we have

➪ \: sum \: of \: the \:two\: integers = \: 65 \\ ➪ \: x \: + \: ( - 31) \: = 6 5\\ ➪ \: x \: - 31 \: = \: 6 5\\ ➪ \: x \: = \: 65 \: + \: 31 \\ ➪ \: x \: = 96

❣ Hence, the other number "x" is 96.

To verify :-

 ➪ \: x \: + \: ( - 31) = \: 65 \\ ➪ \: 96 \: - \: 31 \: = \: 65 \\ ➪ \: 65 \: = \: 65

L. H. S. = R. H. S.

Hence proved.
