\rm{\gray{\underline{\blue{Answer:-}}}}

let \: first \: number \:  = x \\ let \: second \: number \:  = y

value \: of \: 2nd \: number \:  = ( - 53)

atq \\ x + x =  72 \\ x + ( - 53) =   72

x = 72 + 53 \\ =  125

\huge\mathcal\pink{VERIFICATION}

1st \: number \:  = 125

2nd \: number =  - 53

result = 72

{\overbrace{\underbrace{\orange{E}\green{Q}\orange{U}\green{A}\orange{T}\green{I}\orange{O}\green{N}}}}

x + x = 72 \\ 125+ ( - 53) = 72 \\   125 - 53 = 72 \\
