Let the unknown required integer be n .

Then,

 \frak{ =  > n + 53 =   \:  \:  \: - 16} \\  \frak{ =  >  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: n =  \:  \:  \: - 16 - 53 } \\  \frak{ =  > \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: n  =  \:  \:  \:   \red{-  69}}

Hence, If by adding two integers result as (-16) where one of the integer is 53, then the another integer will be -69 .
