Step-by-step explanation:
let the two terms be x and y their sum,
x + y = 50 ___ (1)
the difference of square :
x^2 - y^2 = 1200
since, (x+y)(x-y) = x^2 - y^2
so, (x+y)(x-y)=1200
from (1) , 50×(x-y) = 1200
(x-y) =1200/50 = 24 ---(2)
add (1) and (2) :
we get x =37
substitute x in (1)
we get y = 13
