Let the two numbers be a & b ;
then according to the question

a+b = 74
b = 74-a

b = 2a-3

74-a = 2a-3
74+3= 2a+a
77 = 3a
a = 77/3
a = 25.66

b = 2a-3
b = 2×(77/3) -3
b = 154/3 - 3
b = 145/3
b = 48.33

Hence the numbers are 38.33 & 25.66

let one number be x.
Other number is 2x-3.
x+2x-3 = 74
3x=74+3
3x=77
x=77/3
You might like to solve it on your own, because the answer stretches till infinite digits.
