Let the larger number be L
& the smaller number be S

According to the question :

L + S = 80
L = 80 - S ......(i)eq

& also given

L - 4S = 5
L = 5 + 4S...........(ii)eq

from eq (i) & (ii)
5 + 4S = 80 - S
4S + S = 80 - 5
5S = 75
S = 75 /5
S = 15

so the smaller number is 15
and the larger number is 65
