The sum of two number is 100. If the fifth part of one is two more than the fourth part of the other, then find both the numbers.

do it in linear equation in one variable method only.

given,

x+y=100

and

x/5=2+y/4.

y=4x/5-8

so, x+4x/5-8=100

9x-40=5x100

9x-40=500

9x=540

x=60

and other is 4x60/5 -8=48-8=40
