Let the numbers be x&y
by the condition given in the question we get two equations
when x > y
x+y=137 ... 1
x-y=43 ... 2
by adding 1&2 we get
2x=180
x=90
y=47
when y > x
we get
y-x=43 ... 3
by adding 1&3 we get
2y=180
y=90
x=47
so numbers are 90 and 47

HI !
let the no:s be "a" and "b"
given,
a + b = 137 ------> (1)
a - b = 43 ----------> (2)
Adding (1) and (2) , we get :-
2a = 180
a = 90
a + b = 137
b = 137 - 90
= 47
The no:s are 90 and 47
