Hey Mate,

Let us take the smaller number to be "x". Then,

The bigger number = 3x + 4

On applying both statements into the first condition, we get:-

=> ( x ) + ( 3x + 4 ) = 16

=> x + 3x + 4 = 16

=> 4x + 4 =16

=> 4x = 16 - 4

=> 4x = 12

=> x = 12/4

=> x = 3

Therefore, the smaller number is 3, then the bigger number is 3 ( 3 ) + 4 = 9 + 4 = 13.

Hope it Helps!
