Take the numbers to be x and y.

x+y=2 ...1

x-y=1 ...2

Adding 1 and 2

x+y+x-y=2+1

2x=3

x=3/2=1.5

y=2-1.5=0.5

Check

1.5+0.5=2

And

1.5-0.5=1
