let the no. be x & y

smaller be x & larger be y respectively

according to 1st condition

x + y = 25 ......... 1

according to 2nd condition

3x - y = 25

adding eq. 1 & 2 .........2

we get ,

2x =50 ...... by cancelling +y &-y

x = 25

putting x = 25 in 1 eq.

x + y = 25

25 + y =25

y = 25 - 25

y = 0

the no. are 25 &0 respectively
