\huge\underline\mathtt\red{Answer\:}

Given sum of two numbers=-3/4

One of the two numbers=-5

Let the other number be x

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  > x + ( - 5) =  \frac{ - 3}{4} \:}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  > x - 5 =  \frac{ - 3}{4} \:}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  > x =  \frac{ - 3}{4} + 5 \:}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  > x =  \frac{ - 3}{4} +  \frac{5}{1}  \:}

Take L.C.M. to make the denominators same.

L.C.M. of 4 and 1=4

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  >  \frac{ - 3}{4} \ \times  \frac{1}{1}  =  \frac{ - 3}{4} :}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  >  \frac{5}{1}  \times  \frac{4}{4} =  \frac{20}{4}  \:}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  >  \frac{ - 3 + 20}{4} \:}

\large\mathtt\blue{ =  > x =  \frac{17}{4} \:}

So the other number us 17/4

Hii...

Sum of two number = -¾

One number = -5

Other number = x

A.T.Q.

=> x + (-5) = -¾

=> x - 5 = -¾

=> x = -¾ + 5

=> x = 17/4
