Given

Sum of two numbers is 5 and difference of their square is 5

To Find

difference of the number

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Let us assume that the first number be 'x'

the second number be 'y'

According to the question

Sum of two numbers then equation for it :x+y=5

Difference of their square is 5 then equation =x²-y²=5

x+y=5

y=5-x__(1)

Now , put y value in x²-y²=5

=>x²-(5-x)²=5

\sf\red{[(a-b)²=a²+b²-2ab]}

=>x²-[(5)²+x²-2(5)(x)]=5

=>x²-25-x²+10x=5

=>-25+10x=5

=>10x=25+5

=>10x=30

x=3

y=5-x=5-3=2

∴X=3 & y=2

So,the difference between the number is 3-2 =1 which is 1 .

Answer:

 \huge\underline{ \tt{ \pink{ANSWER}}}

Let the two numbers be X and y

Given that sum of two number is 5.

-->x+y=5

Given that difference of their square is 5.

We know that a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)

-->(x+y)(x-y)=5

-->(5)(x-y)=5

-->(x-y) =1

Therefore the difference of number is 1
