Let the other number be y

Given,

20% of x =30% of y

20/100 of x =30/100 of y

(20/100)*x=(30/100)*y

x=3/2y

Also,x+y=5000

3/2y+y=5000

5/2y=5000

y=10000/5=2000

x=3/2*2000=3000
