\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Question}}}}

Information,

Sum of two numbers = 520

If bigger number is decreased by 4% and smaller number increased by 12%, then numbers obtained are equal.

Now,

Assumption,

Bigger number be p

Also,

Smaller number be 520 - p

Situation,

\rm \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:p\times\dfrac{100-4}{100}=520-p\times\dfrac{100+12}{100}

\rm \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:p\times\dfrac{96}{100}=520-p\times\dfrac{112}{100}

\rm \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:\dfrac{96p}{100}=\dfrac{58240-112p}{100}

96p = 58240 - 112p

96p + 112p = 58240

208p = 58240

\rm \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:p=\dfrac{58240}{208}

p = 280

Therefore,

Bigger number = 280

Smaller number = 520 - 280 = 240
