Let the numbers are x and y
According to the question
x+y =60---- equation 1
X^2 - y^2 = 1200
x^2−y ^2=(x+y)(x−y)
60∗(x−y)= 1200
x-y =120----- equation 2
Adding eq1 and eq2
⇒2x=180⇒x=90
Put the value of x in eq1
⇒90+y=60⇒y= -30
The numbers are 90 and -30
