x-5y+22=0

30-6y=0
6y=30
y=5
x=8-5=3

According to question,
x + y = 8
x = 8 - y
Now,
x + 22 = 5y
{Putting value of x in the above equation}
8 - y + 22 = 5y
30 = 6y
y = 5
