Let the numbers be a and b respectively
According to question
10% of a = 12.5 % of b
=> 10a/100 = 12.5 b /100
=> 10a = 12.5b
=> 100a = 125 b
=> 4a= 5b
=> a= 5b/4
a+b = 4500
=> b + 5b/4 = 4500
=> 9b/4 = 4500
=> b = 500 * 4
=> b = 2000
a= 2500
According to question
10% of a = 12.5 % of b
=> 10a/100 = 12.5 b /100
=> 10a = 12.5b
=> 100a = 125 b
=> 4a= 5b
=> a= 5b/4
a+b = 4500
=> b + 5b/4 = 4500
=> 9b/4 = 4500
=> b = 500 * 4
=> b = 2000
