Let the required number be x and y
Now , According to question:
- => x + y = 10 Or x = 10 - y {Eq 1.}
- => x × y = 25 Or x = 25/y {Eq 2.}
So , by combining Eq 1 and Eq 2 , we get the value of x as :
10-y = 25/y
-y²+10y- 25 = 0
y² -10y + 25 = 0
(y² -5y - 5y +25 = 0)
y(y-5) × -5(y-5)
(y-5)(y-5) { Eq3}
So , here in above Eq 3 we get two values , that is 5 and 5.
So , the required two numbers are 5.
Proof :--
The two numbers are 5 and 5.
Now , their sum is ⤵
5+5 = 10 (as given in question)
Now , their product is ⤵
5×5 = 25 (as given in question)
