Answer :-
- The two numbers are 53 and 47.
Given :-
- Sum of two numbers = 100.
- The difference of the two numbers is 6.
To find :-
- The two numbers.
Solution :-
Let the two numbers be x and y.
We know that,
x + y = 100
x - y = 6
- If x - y = 6. It can be transposed and be x = y + 6.
So, Equation will be :-
(6 + y) + y =100
➞ 6 + y + y = 100
➞ 6 + 2y = 100
➞ 2y = 100-6
➞ 2y = 94
➞ y =
➞ y = 47
Hence, The second number (y) = 47.
We know that,
- x = 6 + y
➞ x = 6 + 47
➞ x = 53.
Thus, The first number (x) = 53.
Therefore, The two numbers are :-
- Y = 47.
- X = 53.
