The sum of two numbers is 11 and their
product is 30, then the numbers are

x+y=11.....eq(1)

x*y=30.....eq(2)

from eq(2)

x*y=30

x=30/y

now putting this value of x in eq(1)

x+y=11

30/y + y = 11  (taking LCM of 30/y + y )

(30+y^2)/y = 11 (y^2 mean y square)

30+y^2 =11y

Y^2 - 11y + 30 = 0 (now we have to perform middle factorization)

Y^2 - 5Y - 6Y + 30 = 0

y(y-5) -6 (y-5) = 0

(y-5)(y-6)=0

y= 5 or 6
