Answer:

x+y = 115..(1)

x-y = 36...(2)

(1)+(2)

x+y+x-y = 115+36

2x = 151

x= 151/2

by putting value of x in equation 1

x+y = 115

151/2-y = 115

-y = 115-151/2

lcm= 2

-y = (230-151)/2

-y = 79/2

y = -79/2

the answer of y is incorrect you forgot to put minus sign.

Hello sisso ❣

■ The two numbers

》Let the two numbers be x and y..

Then ,

x + y = 115

x - y = 36

since x + y = 115

x = 115 - y

Substitute the value of x in the equation x - y = 36

Then ,

115 - y - y = 36

115 - 2y = 36

-2y = 36 - 115 ==> - 2y = -79 ==> y = 79 / 2

Subsitute the value of y in the equation x - y = 36

x - (79/2) = 36

x = 36 + (79/2)

x = (72 + 79)/2

x = 151/2
