To Find : Which are the numbers

Solution:

Assume that numbers are x and y

x + y = 140    Eq1

x - y = 80      Eq2

Eq1 + Eq2

=> x + y + x - y = 140 + 80

=> 2x = 220

=> x = 220/2

=> x = 110

Substitute in Eq1

=> 110 + y = 140

=> y = 140 - 110

=> y = 30

Hence two numbers are 110  and 30
