given,

x+y= 16...

thus,x= 16-y...

x-y=2

16-y-y= 2

16-2y=2

-2y=-14

y=7

therefore ,

x= 16-7= 9

2nd no = [16-X]

Difference = 2

[16-X] - X = 2

16 - 2X = 2
