The sum of two numbers is 16. Three times the greater number equals four times the lessct number
increased by 6. Find the numbers​

Let the two numbers be x and 16-x.

According to question,

3 times x is equal to 4 times 16-x increased by 4. So,

=3x-4(16-x)=6

=3x-64+4x= 6

=3x+4x=6+64

=7x=70

=x=10

=16-x= 6

Therefore the numbers are 10 and 6.
