let one number = x

second number = 184 - x

according to the problem given,

x /3 - ( 184 -x )/7 = 8

[ 7x - 3(184 - x ) ] /21 = 8

7x - 552 + 3x = 21 × 8

10x = 168 + 552

10x = 720

x = 720 / 10

x = 72

Therefore ,

one number = x = 72

second number = 184 - x

= 184 - 72

=12
