The sum of two numbers is 188. The larger number is 10 less than twice the smaller number. Find the number.

let the numbers be x and 188-x

so, 188-x = 2x-10

188+10 = 2x+x

3x = 198

x = 66

so the numbers are 66 and (188-x) or 122
