Let the smaller number be x.

Another number will be x + 5.

According to question :-

$x + x + 5 = 21 \\ \\ 2x + 5 = 21 \\ \\ 2 = 21 - 5 \\ \\ 2x = 16 \\ \\ x = \frac{16}{2} \\ \\ x = 8$

So the numbers are :-

x = 8 and

x + 5 = 8 + 5

= 13
