Let first number be x
second number be y
So, according to question
x+y=22--------1
x-y=4-----------2
Adding equation 1 and 2 we get
⇒2x=26
⇒ x=13
⇒ Put in 1
13+y=22
⇒y=9
You can also do it
By using elimination /substitution/cross multiplication method
x=13 and y=9
