Hi dear Shanti....
Let the two numbers be X and Y
according to the question, sum of two no.s is 25
so, X+Y=25⇒X=25-Y...........(1)
and their difference is 5
i.e. X-Y=5⇒X=5+Y.............(2)
Now from equation (1)&(2) we have
25-Y=5+Y
⇒25-5=Y+Y
⇒20=2Y
⇒2Y=20
⇒Y=20/2=10
now u can use the value of Y in equation (1) or (2) to get the value of X.
so let's put in equation (1)
so X=25-Y=25-10⇒X=15
Therefore the required two numbers are 15 & 20 respectively.
Hope u find my ans helpful dear.
All the best Shanti.
