here,.

x>y

therefore,

x+y= 30....(1) and x-y= 6....(2)

adding (1) and (2),

x+y= 30

+x-y= 6

2x= 36

x= 36/2= 18

hence,.

x= 18

now,

x+y= 30

18+y= 30

y= 30-18= 12

therefore,

x, y=18, 12
