let the 2 numbers be x

one number exceeds by 3

so x+x+3

2x+3=30

then take 3 other side (so when e shift it becomes subtraction)

so 30-3=27

2x=27

27/2=13.5

so x is 13.5

then one number exceeds by 3 so 13.5+3=16.5

so, 13.5+16.5=30

hope this is clear.

Let the numbers be 'x' and 'x+3'

Therefore,

According to the question,

x + (x+3) = 30

⇒ x+x+3 = 30

⇒ 2x+3 = 30

⇒2x = 30-3

⇒2x = 27          ⇒ x = 27÷2

∴ x = 13.5

∴ x+3 = 13.5+3 = 16.5

∴ The two numbers are 13.5 and 16.5
