The sum of two numbers is 304 and their H.C.F. is 19. What may be the 2 possible numbers?​

Let the two numbers be 48x and 48y respectively where x and y are co-primes.

here,

384 = 48x + 48y

384 = 48(x + y)

384/48 = x + y

Hence, x+y=8

So, values of (x, y) = (1, 7) and (3, 5) only because they have to be co-primes.

Therefore , Possible numbers are: (48,336)

and (144,240).

Hence, The difference between the two numbers are:

288 and 96
