The sum of two numbers is 35 and their difference is 9 find the numbers

Let two numbers be x&y
According to question,
X+y=35-------(1)
X-y=9------(2)(by elimination method)
2x=44
X=22
Put the value of x in eq.1
Y=22-35
Y=-13

So x=22&y=-13

let the numbers be x and y then,
x+y=35and
according to question
y-x=9
now,

x+y=35
y-x=9
__________
2x=26
x=13

and by putting value of x on y-x=9
we get value of y=22
hence x=13 and y=22
