 =  \frac{ - 4}{3}  \\ if \: the \: given \: number =  \frac{1}{3}  \\ let \: x \: be \: the \: required \: number

by the question, we have

 \frac{1}{3}  + x =  \frac{ - 4}{3} \\  = x =  \frac{ - 4}{3}   -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{ - 4 - 1}{3}  =  \frac{ - 5}{3}
