Let the two numbers be a and b.
a+b= 40 .....(1)
a-b=14. .....(2)
By adding eq(1) and eq(2),
a+b+a-b=14+40
2b=54
b=27
Now putting value of b in eq(1),
a+27=40
a=40-27
a=13
a+b= 40 .....(1)
a-b=14. .....(2)
By adding eq(1) and eq(2),
a+b+a-b=14+40
2b=54
b=27
Now putting value of b in eq(1),
a+27=40
a=40-27
a=13

Hey Mate..!!
Here's Your Answer..!!
Simultaneous Equation-
Let one no. be X
And other no. be Y
Therefore,
x+y = 40........(i)
And
x-y = 14..........(ii)
Adding equation (i) and (ii)-
x+y = 40
x-y = 14
_______
2x = 54
x = 54/2
x = 27
Now, let's find the value of y by inserting X's value in equation (i)
x+y=40
27+y=40
This implies that,
y = 40-27
y= 13
Hope This Helps..!!
