Suppose two numbers are x and y

Hence,

x + y = 40…… {1}

x - y = 10……….{2}

Add eqiation 1 and 2,

2x = 50.

x = 25.

Put these value in equation 1,

25 + y = 40

y = 15.

Hence,. x = 25. y = 15
