Let,

• First Number = x
• Second Number = y

A/C to question,

➡ x + y =42 _________(1)

Again,

(Their difference is 24)

➡ x - y = 24 _________(2)

Add equ(1) & equ(2)

➡ 2x = 42 + 24

➡2x = 66

➡x = 66/2

➡x = 33

Keep in equ(1) ,

➡33 + y = 42

➡y = 42 - 33

➡y = 9

• Second Number be(y) = 9
