Let the two numbers be x, y.

x + y = 45 ---> EQ1.
x - y = 1/9(45)
x - y = 5 ---> EQ2.
Solve the two equations.
2x = 50
x = 25
Put x = 25 in EQ1.
25 + y = 45
y = 20

So, the two numbers are 20, 25 and their LCM is 100.

khushikumari11: hey lcm means least common number
shubh1729: this is the correct answer
khushikumari11: but how can you say that the lcm of 20 and 25 is 100 this is not right
shubh1729: least common multiple, or LCM, is another number that's useful in solving many math problems. Let's find the LCM of 30 and 45. One way to find the least common multiple of two numbers is to first list the prime factors of each number.

30 = 2 × 3 × 5
45 = 3 × 3 × 5

Then multiply each factor the greatest number of times it occurs in either number.

2: one occurrence
3: two occurrences
5: one occurrence
2 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 90 <— LCM

let first no=x
and second=y
therefore x+y=45 ................equ 1
and x-y=45×1/9

=5..........equ 2
from equ 1 and 2 we have -
x=25 and=20
the L.C.M of 25 and 20 is
25=5×5
20=2×2×5
therefore lcm (25 and 20)=5 ans THANKS
