Let one number be x.

Then the other number will be 4500 - x.

Given that 10% of one number if 12.5%of the other.

10% of x = 12.5% of (4500 - x)

10/100 * x = 12.5/100 * (4500 - x)

x/10 = 2.5/20(4500 - x)

x = 25/20(4500 - x)

20x = 25(4500 - x)

20x = 112500 - 25x

20x + 25x = 112500

45x = 112500

x = 112500

x = 2500.

Therefore the 1st number = 2500.

                         2nd number = 4500 - 2500

                                               = 2000.

Verification:

2500 + 2000 = 4500

4500 = 4500

Hope this helps!

Let the 1st Number be = x

Let the second number be = 4500-x

Given,

10% of 1st no. is 12.5% of the second no.

Therefore,

10% of x = 12.5% of 4500-x

10/100 × x = 12.5/100 × 4500-x

x/10 = 2.5/20 × 4500-x

x = 25/20 × 4500-x

20x = 25 ( 4500 - x )

20x = 112500 -25x

20x + 25x = 112500

45x = 112500

x = 2500

I.E. 1st Number = 2500
And Second Number = 4500 - 2500= 2000
