Let first biggest no be X and second no be y

A/Q

=x+y=46___(1)

also x-y=4___(2)

By elimination method (adding 1and 2)

=X+y=46

+x-y=4

=2x=50

=X=25

also x-y=4

-y=4-25

-y=-21

y=21

Answer:

Let the 2 numbers be 'x' and 'y'

Accordingly to the first condition:

X+Y=46. --------- (i)

According to the second condition:

X-Y=4 -----------(ii)

ADDING (i) and (ii)

X+Y=46

+ X- Y= 4

2X =50

Therefore,

X= 25. ---------(iii)

Substituting (iii) in (i)

(25)+Y=46

Y= 46 - 25

Y= 21

Answer:

X= 25 and Y= 21

Hope this helps you!!!
