Answer:

let the no. be x and y

According to question

therefore,

x+y=5

x=-5. eqn. 1

again,

x2-y2=5

putting the value of x we have

(-5)2-y2=5

25-y2=5

-y2=5-25

y2=20

y=20

Answer:

let the numbers be x and y

x + y = 5

x^2 - y^2 = 5

if x = 3 and y = 2 (for assumption)

3 + 2 = 5

9 - 4 = 5

Hence proved.
