\large\bold{\underline{\underline{Given:-}}}

Sum of two numbers = 5

One of the number =  \frac{  - 3}{4}

\large\bold{\underline{\underline{To\:find:-}}}

The second number.

\large\bold{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}

Let the second number be x.

As per the question,

Sum of two numbers = 5

\longrightarrow{\blue{}}  \frac{ - 3}{4}  + x = 5 \\

\longrightarrow{\blue{}} x = 5  +   \frac{ 3}{4}  \\

\longrightarrow{\blue{}} x =  \frac{5 \times 4}{1 \times 4}  +  \frac{3}{4}   \\

\longrightarrow{\blue{}} x =  \frac{20  +  3}{4}  \\

\longrightarrow{\blue{}} x =  \frac{23}{4}  \\

Hence, the second number "x" is \frac{23}{4} .
