The sum of two numbers is 50. If one of the numbers is twice of the other, then what is the
difference of the numbers?​

let \\ one \: of \: the \: number \: be \: x \\ other \: number \: be \: y \\  \\ given \:  \\ x + y = 50........eq.1 \\ x = 2y \\ x - 2y = 0.........eq.2 \\  \\  the \: difference \: between \: two \: equatins = \\ x + y = 50 \\ x   - 2y = 0 \\ ......................................... \\ x + y = 50 \\  - x + 2y = 0 \\ ........................................... \\ 3y = 50 \\ y =  \frac{50}{3}  \\ y = 16.6 \\ then \: x = 2y \: so \: x = 2 \times 16.6 = 33.2 \\

\therefore

x = 33.2 \: and  \: \: y = 16.6

their difference is 33.2 - 16.6 = 16.6
